The British Virgin Islands consist of the main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke, along with over fifty other smaller islands and cays. Although only 15 of the islands are inhabited all the islands and cays create this unique archipelago we call the British Virgin Islands. A place where steady trade winds meet virgin beaches and incredible resorts, visitors are invited to explore the lush forests, swim in the warm waters or relax on one of the white sand beaches.
Tortola
The largest and capital of the islands, Tortola is full of fun activities. As it will be the starting point to your adventure, it is a great chance to feel out what activities you and your family will want to participate in. Its main town, Roadtown is the the busiest and will be a nice spot stocking supplies and for a dinner before heading out. On your journey, you can circle to the other side of the islands to spend time in Cane Garden Bay or Hurricane Hole.
Cooper Island
One of the potential first stops on your families trip, this islands is quiet and is a nice way to 'get your feet wet'. Paddle boards are available for rent and the food is really special at the Eco-Friendly resort. Cooper Island presents the perfect backdrop for your family to embark on the journey and adventure.
Virgin Gorda
This islands contains a wide range of things for your family to see. First and foremost are the wold famous Baths. An unusual geological formation, this National Park is a must see. The smooth boulders that dot the pristine water is truly spiritual. Also on Virgin Gorda is the now 5-Star resort, The Bitter End Yacht Club. This is the perfect spot to lay over for a day and enjoy the moment. Boat rentals, snorkeling and world class food are just a few steps off of the boat.
Jost Van Dyke
With a population of just under 300 people, this tiny island is the perfect spot to get some quiet moments both individually and with your family. There are restaurants along the shore, including the famous Soggy Dollar Bar. Jost Van Dyke is known for its impeccable weather, with its natural winds serving as the perfect air conditioning.
Anegada
The most remote island of the BVI chain, this amazing peace of heaven includes the worlds 3rd largest barrier reef. It has great lovely, relaxing beaches as well as wonderful seafood. Anegada is a full day sail away but certainly worth the trip. Formed by coral and limestone alone, the summit of this low-lying land mass is just 28 feet above sea level. This island also includes salt ponds which host many rare and endangered species such as the Anegada Rock Iguana as well as turtles. Horseback riding on the beach is a favorite pastime here as well.
